Serena van der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively) wore this Dolce & Gabbana snowflake patterned runway sweater in Gossip Girl Season 4, Episode 13, "Damien Darko." 

Every scene Serena has in this episode is about Ben Donovan. The episode opens with her getting dressed to go meet him for breakfast, where he tells her he's leaving the next day to work on a friend's farm in Ithaca and she pretends to be fine with it. She then turns up unannounced at his halfway house and is shaken by the state of it, and later opens an envelope in her mother's living room to find thirty thousand dollars in cash and a note telling Ben to stay away from her family — with Ben's reply attached, saying he'd stay away for free. An Italian runway sweater worn to be turned down in a diner, a halfway house, and a magazine party, in that order.

The sweater is D&G doing an alpine ski knit and cutting it like a corset. Big eight-point snowflake medallions in ivory on a charcoal ground, framed by narrow bands of geometric Fair Isle border work, with the pattern reading warmer — plum and oatmeal — under the show's lighting. V-neck, long sleeves, softly gathered shoulder seams that give it a slight leg-of-mutton lift, and a deep black ribbed waistband that pulls the whole thing in high and short. Fitted through the body rather than slouchy. A cozy-coded garment engineered to be anything but: she wears it to be gently rejected in a diner.
